While many of you were hoping for an announcement that Fallout 76 was coming to the Switch, you will have to settle for a consolation prize. Bethesda has just announced the imminent arrival of Fallout Shelter in the Switch eShop, to coincide with the game’s three year anniversary.

Fallout Shelter was originally released on iOS in June 2015, and after making more than five million dollars in its first two weeks, was eventually ported to Android, Windows and the Xbox One.

The game borrows heavily from the base- & team-building mechanics found in the modern XCOM games. Like its mobile counterpart, Fallout Shelter will be free to download on the Switch, and supported via microtransactions.
