Death Road to Canada guide: Unomey the Unlock Gnome

If you want to increase your chances of making it through Death Road to Canada’s tougher game modes, like the Deadlier Road mode, you’ll need to pay Unomey the Unlock Gnome a visit. Unomey can be found in Zombo Town, which is easily found by selecting “Unlocks” from the title screen.

You’ll need a whopping 555 Zombo Points to unlock everything that Unomey has to offer – and that doesn’t even cover the perks and traits you can unlock.

How to get Zombo Points quickly

• Successfully reach Canada on a run (at least 9 ZP each run)
• Random drops (1-2 ZP)
• Extra ZP unlocks (1 ZP for various events)
• Extra ZP Ultimate exploit (2 ZP every minute)

A standard clear of the game will net you at least nine ZP, from the three Glimmer of Hope on the Death Road events (which grant one, two and three ZP respectively) and the ending granting another three ZP.

You’ll eventually get more ZP for a playthrough thanks to the four Extra ZP unlocks, which grant 1 ZP for each character rescued, item sold, character recruit & death.

You can also find Zombo Points as random drops while playing the game – sometimes even two at once.

Once you’ve unlocked Extra ZP Ultimate, which grants 1 ZP for each death, you can use a cheap exploit to grind out any Zombo Points you need – just start a game, let both characters die in the first encounter, and you’ll get two ZP. This takes about a minute each time, which is really useful if you only need one or two extra ZP to unlock something.

A complete list of Unomey’s unlocks

• Extra ZP I – 5 ZP – Get 1 ZP for every successful rescue!
• Extra ZP II – 10 ZP – Get 1 ZP every time you sell an item to the weapons buyers!
• Extra ZP III – 15 ZP – Get 1 ZP every time you recruit someone or something!
• Extra ZP Ultimate – 20 ZP – Get 1 ZP every time an ally dies!
• Trader Camp Gnome – 10 ZP – Lets you buy a little bit of extra supplies from Tnomey, the Trade Gnome. He takes ZP as currency, and you may buy one thing from him per game. Besides supplies, he may also sell an extra recruit!
• Trader Gnome Upgrade – 20 ZP – This will upgrade the Trade Gnome to carry items worth 20 ZP. This will be an extra option in every shop, in addition to his 10 ZP item. He may sell cheap weapons and battle rodents!
• Trader Gnome Ultimate – 30 ZP – This will upgrade the Trade Gnome to also carry items worth 30 ZP. He may sell some new weapons and random rare characters!
• Toilet Upgrade I – 10 ZP – Upgrades toilets. Now they’ll have 2 gas instead of 1. Maybe it adds up?
• Toilet Upgrade II – 20 ZP – Toilets can contain 2 bullets. Every little bit helps.
• Toilet Upgrade III – 30 ZP – Toilets may rarely contain something mysterious. Toilets also get a 30% chance to contain toilet loot, up from the default 20%
• Toilet Upgrade ULTIMATE – 50 ZP – With this final toilet upgrade, you only need to open 50 toilets to summon the Toilet Genie, instead of 100!
• More Rare Traders I – 10 ZP – Rare Traders chance will increase to 1/27
• More Rare Traders II – 20 ZP – Rare Traders chance will increase to 1/24
• More Rare Traders III – 30 ZP – Rare Traders chance will increase to 1/21
• More Rare Traders Max – 50 ZP – Rare Traders chance will increase to 1/18
• Max ZP Increase (15) – 10 ZP – Increases your maximum ZP to 15! NOTE: You can unlock this for free by winning the game in any mode.
• Max ZP Increase (20) – 15 ZP – Increases your maximum ZP to 20! NOTE: You can unlock this for free by winning the game in Deadlier Road mode!
• Max ZP Increase (30) – 20 ZP – Increases your maximum ZP to 30! The most expensive Trait or Perk is well under 30 points, but Unomey caters to a more upscale clientele.
• Max ZP Increase (50) – 30 ZP – Increases your maximum ZP to 50! This lets you buy Unomey’s most expensive unlocks.
• Rare Finder I – 20 ZP – Increase chance of Rare Locations to 3/55. You may also now find up to 3 Rare Locations in one game, up from 2!
• Rare Finder II – 30 ZP – Increase chance of Rare Locations to 4/55. You may also now find up to 4 Rare Locations in one game, up from 3!
• Rare Finder III – 50 ZP – Increase chance of Rare Locations to 5/55. You may also now find up to 5 Rare Locations in one game, up from 4!
• Rare Finder ULTIMATE – 50 ZP – Chance of Rare Road Events will increase further! You may also find another extra Rare Event in a Game!
