Broforce is a side-scrolling action game developed by Free Lives, which is inspired by 80s action movies and classic games like Contra.
Originally created as an entry into the Ludum Dare 23 game jam with the title Rambros, Free Lives decided to continue development after winning first prize in the "fun" category. The game was renamed to Broforce and eventually released on Steam Early Access on April 7, 2014.
The game features destructable environments, pixel graphics, and can be played simultaneously by up to four players in both co-operative and competitive modes.
Publisher Devolver Digital announced the Switch port of Broforce was "en route" in June, before announcing its release date in August.
The PC release has a Metacritic score of 83, and Steam reviews are Overwhelmingly Positive.
